Save the Animals Rescue Team had to say goodbye to a very dear friend on July 18, 2023, George Porter. George lost his battle to cancer, surrounded by his wife, his three children and his grandson. His name may not be recognizable to you but his face surely is. For many years, George portrayed our Santa for photos in our Totowa Petco store. We truly believed he was Santa with his infectious smile and the twinkle in his eye. That smile never wavered as he sat for hours with all of the pets that tried their best to be cooperative. But George didn’t mind. His patience won them over every time and each photo rewarded us with a lifetime of memories. Our thoughts are with his family during this difficult time.
S.T.A.R.T. was so grateful that “Santa” was able to touch so many
four legged lives.
